We need your help. We find ourselves reaching out at an unprecedented time. Unfortunately,
this is the timing we have been given and we feel no choice but to make you aware of the recent news we received.
Legacy Health has announced its intention to sell Hopewell House. They will officially list the building and property for sale at the beginning of 2021, giving us, Friends of Hopewell House (FHH), until the end of the year to come up with the funds to purchase it. We anticipate the need to raise approximately 5 million dollars.
Friends of Hopewell House volunteers have been meeting for a year to find ways to reopen the hospice. We believe that over the past 30 years, Hopewell House has become a rooted and necessary part of our community, providing care and love for those approaching the end of life. The thought of this special building and property becoming something else after helping over 10,000 people die with grace over the years is both alarming and heartbreaking.
With the announcement of the sale, we are looking for an angel that can step forward and purchase the estate on our behalf to keep Hopewell House alive and in service to the community. We are reaching out to individuals, foundations, and corporations with the means and the heart to save Hopewell House. Please introduce us to anyone who is supportive of hospice care and may have the financial means to help us purchase Hopewell House. If you can make that introduction, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, please like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FHHinPDX where we will post regular updates. We will soon launch a larger fundraising campaign providing you and others a way to contribute what you can. Thank you for sharing your concern and being a part of this journey.
